There's probably very few TMNT fans out there who would have read the original comic produced by Mirage Studios back in 1984. These figures are a tribute to that period of innocence when TMNT was a small-print but highly collectible comic series, before it became the mega-massmarket juggernaut of the late 80's. The reason for the black and white is that TMNT's very first publication was as an oversized magazine-style format with black and white artwork on newsprint (the print run was only 3000). So here they are, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael in there very first incarnation, Black and White, complete with weapons. These figures have multiple points of articulation for maximum posablility.
- NECA proudly presents these highly-detailed super-posable action figures based on the original comic books created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Each figure features over 20 points of articulation and character specific accessories. Celebrate over two decades of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES with this new collection.
The name "Mirage Studios" was chosen because of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's lack of a professional art studio at the start of their career, this ironically was before their single offbeat creation made them both multi-millionaires.
